Southbay Chinese Baptist Church (SCBC) was founded in 1980 by twelve Christians in Milpitas who wanted to reach the Chinese community locally and also those in China. These believers started meeting in a home, but soon began to rent space in another church for a Cantonese worship service. A separate English-speaking worship service was started in 1992.
Since then, the church has moved from Milpitas to San Jose, built two new buildings, and grown to span four generations worshipping in two languages.
During the last three decades, SCBC has experienced many changes, but we have always existed by an abundance God’s grace.
